RACCOON PROJECT 2010

SURPRISE!!

A Raccoon Party!!!
(You were probably thinking Echidnas, huh? xD)

I always wanted to include my character, Rika, in a group picture, so I thought "why not put her in a picture with a lot of other Raccoons, and have a Raccoon-Only 2010 Party? That would be a GREAT way to kick-start the New Year, especially since Raccoons (like Marine) are underappreciated for what they're worth. Raccoons are so awesome, they have those cute little rings around their eyes, making them a very unique character choice, and those bushy tails with the stripes on them--those, in my opinion, are the most fun of all to draw!

I could only find 7 well-known raccoons made by my friends though, so I decided to add them with Rika and make it an even 8. And they are all doing something in this picture. Let me take the time to explain every detail in this pic, starting from the top left and ending at the bottom right:

If you know Candy's brother like I do, he's a practical dude who likes to hit on other girls, which is what he's doing to poor Jen-Jen in this pic. Even with that awesome scythe in hand though, JENNIFER IS NOT AMUSED. Of course, you could clearly see that by the sweat drop coming from her head... oh gosh, I hope I got her legwarmers and arm warmers down... but Peter's scythe is just totally rad. I KNOW I did a good job on *that*.

Technically, this character belongs to the both of them, but I prefer it be Lauren's instead, since she's the one that originally drew him. I'd imagine him doing what any other guy would do on New Years: stay up late playing video games, indicated by the flashing TV screen and the controller in his hand. And he's standing on the stairs (no duh, how else would everyone get on top of the building in the first place? ) BTW: if you can guess what type of game controller that is (of course, you may already know), you get a cookie AND a free request from me... but ONLY if you were the first one to comment with the correct answer! ^_~

A very simple scene here, folks. Rika and Tina are just enjoying some tea. Rika really likes talking to Tina and the two of them seem to get along great! I'll admit, I had tons of fun drawing her. Kudos to your polite, cute, and charming raccoon character, sis! <3 (hehe she's 5 ^w^)

This is, in my opinion, one of the sweetest scenes in this entire picture. It was my first time drawing Alonia and I had fun drawing her and her outfit, along with her shoes and her really long hair... <3 (Я надеюсь что Вы наслаждаетесь этой картиной...) Holly notices some fireworks in the sky (not in the picture) and points up to show Alonia. That's it. There's no talk needed. That's the good thing about being different languages: when you perform an action, show a picture, or make a simple hand gesture you can show the entire world what you want to show them. And it's these actions, that speak louder than words, which allow us to comprehend with one another and build friendships, sharing secrets and many fantastic treasures and mysteries of our beautiful world... that's why I think that scene is the best. And aw, look... Alonia's blushing in excitement of the fireworks! Now that's just sweet... ^w^ And I don't draw Holly's fursona much, so consider this a gift, my friend! ^_~

She's happy and content, enjoying the view, the fireworks, AND the party, as seen by the party blower she's using X3. I just love the little anime effect I threw in there... kinda gives it a better feel, ya know? ^^ Anyway, I told Dilara I would draw her raccoon character someday, and today was that day! (Well actually, I drew her 3 days, ago, then scanned her and colored the pic yesterday, but you get it. ) I hope she enjoys having Charlotte in this pic just as much as I enjoyed putting her in myself. <3

And I guess that's it. NO, I CANNOT DRAW FIREWORKS! I SUCK AT THAT! I was gonna submit this as a JPEG file, but apparently it would turn out to be TWICE AS LARGE as the original PNG file I had saved it as, but even then this file is still big... o.o;
